The moment has arrived.
After an incredible inaugural season that saw FC Kraja capture the Spring Division title and earn promotion to Division 3, the club now has one final challenge ahead: the postseason championship final.
On Sunday, June 21 at 8:30 PM, FC Kraja will face FC Rush at Astoria Park in a winner-take-all showdown.
The two sides know each other well. FC Kraja finished the regular season atop the table, while FC Rush battled their way to a strong 5-0-4 record and a place in the final. Every trophy is earned, and FC Kraja will need one more complete performance to bring home postseason silverware.
This match also carries special meaning because it will be played in Queens, a borough that has long been home to one of the largest Albanian communities in the United States. For decades, Albanian families from Kraja, Ulqin, Shkodër, Malësia, Kosova, and beyond have built businesses, raised families, and strengthened communities throughout Queens and New York City.
From the cafes and restaurants of Astoria to the soccer fields that have hosted generations of Albanian-American players, Queens has played an important role in preserving our culture while creating opportunities for future generations. Many of the pioneers who helped establish Albanian soccer clubs throughout New York called Queens home, making Astoria Park a fitting stage for this championship match.
FC Kraja was built to celebrate that same heritage while bringing together players from across the community. Throughout this season, the club has shown resilience, skill, and heart. Whether overcoming early deficits, winning dramatic matches, or advancing through a penalty shootout in the semifinals, the team has continually found a way to rise to the occasion.
